The hostel's location was absolutely incredible, I couldn't have asked for a better spot! The staff were not only super-friendly but also incredibly helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a delightful breakfast spot right at the entrance, with scrumptious croissants and delicious coffee that were added conveniently to my room bill. The cleanliness of the place was mind-blowing, especially with the bathrooms being cleaned twice daily. Despite my terrible Spanish, the staff made me feel welcome and even let me store my bags while I explored Tierradentro. The tranquility at night was quite pleasant, until a noisy couple disrupted the peace with their midnight conversation outside our room. However, there were so many more positives that outweighed this minor inconvenience. The price was excellent, and the hostel had a fully functional kitchen with all the necessary cookware and utensils. The bunk beds had individually controlled lights, which was a super cool feature. My room was squeaky clean, had a hot shower, and they even dried my clothes for me in their laundry facility. All in all, it was a jaw-droppingly good stay at this lovely, well-located hotel.

Had a blast riding the free bikes around, felt like a fancy cyclist. Also, loved pretending to be eco-friendly with the free WiFi. So progressive!
Too bad they didn't offer a complimentary helicopter ride to the supermarket 3.2 km away. Walking is so old-fashioned.

This hostel is conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to explore the main attractions on foot. The rooms are comfortable, with amenities like a small desk, wardrobe, and bedside lamps. The common area has a relaxed vibe, and the staff is friendly and helpful, offering information about tours and onward travel.
The breakfast offered at the on-site cafe is overpriced, but there are other options nearby that offer a bigger breakfast at a lower price.

I had a wonderful stay at El Caracol in Popayan. The owners, Kim and Tony, were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They provided me with valuable tips for traveling around Colombia. The breakfast option was delicious and reasonably priced. The hostel had a cozy coffeehouse/bistro vibe, and the backyard was a great place to relax and socialize. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with warm showers and comfortable beds. The hostel even had laundry facilities available for a small fee. The location was perfect, with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially considering my limited Spanish-speaking abilities. I highly recommend El Caracol for a pleasant stay in Popayan.
There was nothing I didn't like about my stay at El Caracol. 😊
